Death Valley After Dark: Astronomy and Photography in the Backcountry

National Parks at Night is partnering with Atlas Obscura to offer this unique experience in the backcountry of Death Valley National Park. Join Chris Nicholson, NPAN instructor and author of Photographing National Parks, along with Tyler Nordgren, astronomer and author of Stars Above, Earth Below: A Guide to Astronomy in the National Parks, on this five-day, four-night trip exploring the 4WD backcountry roads of Death Valley, home to some of the darkest skies in the U.S.

Learn about the stars above, as well as how to photograph them over the Racetrack Playa, a volcanic crater and some of the highest sand dunes in North America.
